Drainlaying: Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, Papamoa
We lay new drains and repair old ones, from soak holes and stormwater to sewer connections, septic systems and rainwater tanks. Drainlaying has to be done by a licensed drainlayer, and Lucas is a certifying drainlayer.
Soak Hole Installation
A soak hole takes rainwater from your roof and lets it soak into the ground, instead of sending it into the council's stormwater. Sandy soil drains well, but a soak hole still has to be the right size for your roof.
The most common jobs:
- New soak holes for new builds and extensions
- Soak holes that have stopped draining
- Water ponding after heavy rain
- Cleaning out silted-up soak holes
Stormwater Drainage
We install and repair the pipes that carry rainwater from your roof and driveway away from the house. Good stormwater drainage stops water pooling around your house and getting under the floor.
The most common jobs:
- Downpipes that overflow or aren't connected
- Water pooling around the house
- Driveway and yard drains
- New stormwater pipes for extensions
Sewer Drainage
We lay and repair the drains that carry wastewater from your house to the council sewer. Cracked or root-filled sewer pipes cause blockages and bad smells, and they're best fixed properly, not just cleared.
The most common jobs:
- New sewer connections
- Broken or cracked sewer pipes
- Drains damaged by tree roots
- Moving drains for a renovation
Septic Tank and Effluent Fields
We install and repair septic tanks, aerated treatment systems and effluent fields for homes that aren't on the council sewer. The rules on how often they're pumped and checked depend on where you live, and we'll tell you what applies to you.
The most common jobs:
- New septic tanks and effluent fields
- Upgrading to an aerated treatment system
- Effluent fields that are wet or smelly
- Repairs to tanks and pipework
Rainwater Tanks
We install rainwater tanks and connect them to your house or garden. With the right pump and filters, tank water can supply your toilet and washing machine.
The most common jobs:
- New rainwater tanks
- Connecting tank water to toilets and laundry
- Pumps and filters for tank water
- Topping up tanks from the mains
