We don't operate a 24/7 emergency plumbing service, but we do look after our clients. If something urgent comes up that's related to work we've completed, we'll be there to help. For new customers, we can generally arrange someone to come out during normal business hours. We also have priority call-out arrangements with our commercial clients, including motels and schools, so they know they can count on us when something urgent comes up.
Burst Pipe Repair
If a pipe bursts, turn the water off at your toby straight away. It's usually in a small box near your front boundary, often next to the water meter. Then turn the hot water cylinder off at the switchboard.
The most common jobs:
- Burst pipes inside walls or under the house
- Split pipes under sinks
- Burst watermains outside
- Damage from a burst pipe
Blocked Toilet Emergency
If your only toilet is blocked, stop flushing it, because that can make it overflow. If you've got a second toilet that works, it can usually wait until we can get to you.
The most common jobs:
- A toilet that won't flush
- A toilet that's overflowing
- Toilets and showers backing up together
- Blockages in the main drain
Flooding Response
If water is coming through a ceiling or across the floor, turn the water off at the toby and switch off the power to anything that's wet. Move your valuables, and take photos for insurance before you start cleaning up.
The most common jobs:
- Water coming through the ceiling
- A flooded bathroom or laundry
- An overflowing hot water cylinder
- Leaks from appliances
Gas Leak Repairs
If you smell gas, turn it off at the meter or bottle, put out any flames, and get everyone outside. Call your gas supplier's emergency line, and 111 if the smell is strong. Once it's safe, we can find and fix the leak.
The most common jobs:
- Gas smells near appliances
- Leaking LPG bottle connections
- Damaged gas pipes
- Appliances that need making safe
